Sasha & Sveta Gherman

Personal note from Sasha: “I come from an Eastern Orthodox family. All my life I was taught that there is a God. I believed in Him, but didn’t care to follow Him. In 2006 I was a student and lived in a campus. Two missionaries from Campus Crusade for Christ came to our room. They shared the 4 spiritual laws. I didn’t take it seriously. After several months I was invited to the event that missionaries organized every Tuesday tighter with the students. That is where my journey with believers and followers of Christ began. Christians showed care and respect. I learned to spend good time without alcohol and bad behavior. I decided that I wanted to follow Christ like they did. I got involved in the ministry as a volunteer. When I finished my education in 2008, I decided to go to Moldova Bible Seminary. That is where I met my wife Sveta. As a student I started doing teen ministry at the church since the church didn’t have it. I still lead the ministry for junior high students. After graduation from Moldova Bible Seminary I became full time minister at the church. I’m also a student in MA program. In order to be more effective in the ministry I decided to continue education.”

Sveta came to know Christ in 1998. When our church was founded, children ministry did the Bible clubs for the kids. Sveta got involved as a kid and then as a young volunteer. In the year 2000 she became the student of Moldova Bible Seminary. She had to take a pause for 4 years. In 2007 she came back as a student and because she didn’t have parents the church had offered her a part time job. Since then she was serving at the church till now. She was my partner when the teen ministry was started in 2009. She graduated from Moldova Bible Seminary in 2010.

Their responsibilities are:
Leading a team of 10 volunteers. They invite teenagers from the neighborhood and encourage them to bring their friends and classmates. They share Gospel with them. During the Summer time they invite them to the camp and show them Christ and the life of the Christian. They host events three times a week with teenagers, lead Bible studies, work with Summer Camps, helping with ministry for the elderly.

Sasha Gherman, is a very effective and valuable Youth Pastor. Together, Sasha and Sveta are an amazing couple who love Jesus and love those they minister to. It reflects in their lives as very loving and humble people.
